IWOXX ComTrace for Windows - README ============================================ I. Actual information on version 1.0.7.1 II. Information on version 1.0.7.0 III. Further important information __________________________________________________________________ I. Actual information on version 1.0.7.1 ------------------------------------------------------- 1. In GERMAN version, the parity value for EVEN and ODD were exchanged in the drop down box resulting in a wrong display. 2. Small bug fixed for the about window not shown modal via the info icon but correct via menu. __________________________________________________________________ II. Information on version 1.0.7.0 ------------------------------------------------------- 1. Because of errornous timestamps while recording in certain situations the COM event processing was changed. The receiving of events on the serial interface has priority against the display update. This means eventually incomplete data display in the case of a great amount of events. ComTrace automatically completes this, if more time is available. HINTS: When you stop recording, there is a short delay. This is the time, ComTrace has to wait for the COM event process to finish its work. 2. The setttings in device manager got extended in the online help for some mor adapters. 3. Errors (parity, framing, line) now are displayed each for send or receive line, so that you can identify the line of error. Therefore we added two new after the signal columns ("D1Err"/"D2Err" or "TxErr"/"RxErr"). For that reason the recoridng file format has been changed. Old recoridng files can still be read, but the errors get displayed always on the column "D1Err" or "TxErr". You must pay attention for this always if you analyze an old record file. 4. In recording mode no functions or program settings can be changed any longer. This is for not impacting ComTrace runtime conditions and leading to the loss of events! Please do not run any other programs while ComTrace is operating. 5. From now on alle COM interfaces of your system, that are available (not used by any other application) get displayed in the COM port/settings window. That way no wrong input is possible. 6. If you insert a new trigger, "_1" gets appended to the filename, avoiding the request message for an existing trigger with this name. __________________________________________________________________ III. Further important information --------------------------------- Please pay attention for the following information to operate the software without any problems: 1.) Ensure that you read the licence agreement you will find in the user manual and the online help system! 2.) Please read carefully the user manual, to avaoid problems while operating the hard- and software of ComTrace! 3.) ATTENTION: ========== Please open the Windows device manager! Search for the entry "Ports (COM&LPT). Please set the both COM Port UART FIFO Receiver Buffer used for ComTrace to "Low(1)". Otherwise there will occur wrong time values for the measure points, because Windows stores up to 16 bytes, before raising an interrupt! Please restart your system after you changed these settings! WARNING: If you use USB2RS232 adapters with ComTrace, you are not able to record in realtime. The reason is a delay in the milliseconds range in the logic of these adapters. Realtime recording is only available with built-in, PCMCIA or PCI interface cards. Furthermore you must follow the description of settings of the COM port FIFO buffers in the text some chapters above. You will find a brief description with screen shots in the user manual and the online help! Now we wish you successfull measurement with IWOXX ComTrace for Windows! And thanks a lot for purchasing an IWOXX product! Best regards Dieter Woellner IWOXX Software Development
