How to activate ComTrace?

The first time you start ComTrace, the application is in Demo Mode! This means, that only 1000 measure points (events) can be recorded. All other functions are not restricted. So you have a chance to test the downloadable demo of ComTrace before buying!

The full version contains all the features and hardware for professional measurements!

So let us think, you buy a full version of ComTrace and have a paper with the activation details. There is activation code on it!

Now start ComTrace and look at the upcoming info dialog.

There are three buttons:

Buy now
Press this button to open a browser window with the IWOXX ComTrace product page. There you can open the shop and order the full version of the product.

Activation
If you want to activate the full version, click this button. In the following activation dialog please insert the activation details printed on a small label/card included in the full version of ComTrace.

Later
This button lets you continue with the demo version of ComTrace.

Enter the activation name and code into the appropriated fields! If you want to cancel the activation process, press the "Cancel" button and go on with the demo version of ComTrace.

If you enter the wrong code, an error message will appear. Please retry code input!

If the activation process was successful after pressing "Next >", the following window will appear.

Note: The code is encrypted specific to your machine. If you copy the program to another PC, you have to reenter the activation code. So ComTrace protects itself and no one without the activiation key can steal your license of IWOXX ComTrace.

After completing the activation process and closing the window, the "Main Screen" appears.

Now you are ready to proceed with the next step "How to setup the COM ports?"!
