How to record serial data?
No matter, whether you setup triggers or not, you are now ready to start recording the COM events.

Therefore you must select a record file. Do that with the menu functions "File | New Record File" to create a new one, or use "File | Ope Record File" to use an existing file.

ComTrace remembers the last used record file in your environment settings, so that you don't have to reopen it every time you start the program.

If you have selected a record file, you can use the following methods to start/stop recording:

Via the menu bar with menu "Record | Start" or key "[F9]".

Via the menu bar with menu "Record | Stop" or key "[F10]".

Via the "Recording panel" at the bottom left corner of the main screen with its big knob to click.

ATTENTION: In record mode you cannot execute any functions or program settings. This would negatively affect the behaviour of ComTrace and result in loss of events. Please do not run any programs on this PC at the same time with ComTrace.
